Water Booster Heater 101

It can be tough for some business owners to decide whether or not they should add a booster heater. They also need to find one that will work well with their current dishwasher.  In this post, one of the top HVAC installation companies in the area, Cafco Services, shares a brief rundown on water booster heaters.

What Is a Booster Heater?

A booster heater is a water heater that’s normally used alongside dishwashers to heat up rinsing water in order to properly sanitize the dishes. The difference between booster heaters and traditional water heaters is that booster heaters release water that’s already heated from 180 to 195 degrees Fahrenheit. This enables the water to thoroughly sanitize all utensils, china and glassware in a commercial dishwasher.

Why Do Other Dishwashers Require a Booster Heater?

HVAC repair experts will tell you that some dishwashing machines require chemicals to clean dirty plates, instead of very hot water. These are low-temperature machines that don’t come with a booster heater. As such, it takes more time and effort to clean plates, especially those with stubborn stains. Having a booster heater backing them will make the business more efficient in terms of time, money, energy and safety.

Perks of Booster Heaters

Some people might think that booster heaters are a vanity, and thus unnecessary. However, this isn’t the case since booster heaters can save you from a lot of headaches. They have self-drying features that allow the water to evaporate quickly once the dishes have been removed. The final water rinse is also certain to be hot enough to meet sanitation requirements, which is especially important in today’s trying times.
