4 Signs You Need a Better Commercial HVAC Service Provider

If you own or manage a commercial property, then you understand that the comfort of your building’s occupants — customers, employees, tenants, staff — is paramount. After all, they’re the lifeblood of your business. Therefore, you need an HVAC contractor that consistently meets your requirements. But not all services are equal, and at some point, you’re probably considering whether or not you should work with a better one. Your local HVAC company Cafco Services takes a look at the signs that point to it.

  1. Recurring Problems. Your HVAC contractor may not be up to par if certain issues persist even after multiple HVAC service appointments. The problem with recurring issues is that a service appointment can give a false sense of security. Signs like an unexplained increase in utility bills, inconsistent temperatures, or a notable decline in indoor air quality are not always attributed to the repair work until it’s too late. An experienced technician should be able to identify and resolve potential issues before they get worse.

  2. Lack of Professionalism. If you’ve ever had to deal with an HVAC technician who forgot an essential tool or replacement part, then you know how delays can cause a domino effect on your schedule. Once can be attributed to an honest mistake, but multiple instances reflect poorly on their professionalism. You deserve a service provider who values your time and investment — one who’s prepared for any eventuality and understands the potential loss of business such delays cause.

  3. Lack of Transparency. You can tell whether a contractor is upfront even when you’re shortlisting prospective ones. But a contractor that starts becoming less transparent is not unheard of, and it’s important to assess your relationship with your HVAC contractor periodically. Be aware of issues like lapses in communication, incomplete billing, and deviation from project timelines without informing you first.

  4. Low-Quality Systems. While savings are definitely a plus, it shouldn’t come at the expense of quality. If your HVAC contractor seems to be pushing the cheaper, low-quality options over quality ones, they could be more interested in offloading those units instead of providing good service. A good contractor should present every option, discuss the features and benefits of each, and let their client make an informed decision.
